Bobboyi gave the commendation while leading his entourage on a courtesy call to the State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in his office, at the Office of the Governor, Bola Ige House Osogbo.
He described Osun as a beacon and searchlight in moving, promoting, resuscitating and revamping the education sector in Nigeria.
The UBEC Executive Secretary noted that the state under the leadership of Governor Aregbesola has made the Commission proud in the achievement of its goals to revamp the education sector in Nigeria.
Bobboyi held that Osun has been prompt in the payment of its counterparts fund, a move he said has helped the Commission to actualize most of the projects that were jointly achieved in the education sector in the state.
He averred that Osun remains one of the few states in Nigeria that has no record of diversion of the counterpart fund provided by the Commission.
He disclosed that the present administration in the state was able to record giant strides in all aspects of the education, particularly in the basic education, saying the gesture has been reflected in the impact the state has made in the lives of the people of the state who have benefitted from the education sector.
Bobboyi also lauded the state’s commitment to physical infrastructure development in the education sector, saying Osun has distinguished itself to be a leading light in the promotion of quality education in the country.
He commended Governor Aregbesola’s administration for being faithful to his election campaign promises in all aspects, particularly in education.
“I must extend our utmost thanks and deep appreciation to our dear governor for championing good, quality and functional education in Osun State.
“Though before I came to Osun, I have been receiving good reports on the unprecedented commitment the Aregbesola’s administration has attached to education, particularly basic education which had yielded huge results.
“But my visit to Osun has exposed me and my entourage to the great impact the present administration has made in the education sector.
“I have seen wonders that have been going-on in the education sector and there is no doubting the fact that Osun government has impacted greatly in the lives of the people of the state in the area of education.
“I have been to several states but yet I have not seen a state that is as serious as Osun in revamping and promoting education, as it is still difficult to equate the seriousness that Osun attached to education with her counterparts.
“I have seen gigantic structures and building all around the state reflecting the state’s commitment to the provision and promotion of quality education through the advancement of education infrastructure.
“I have seen model schools that were of international standard virtually in every nook and cranny of the state and I believe strongly that the state has also taken the lead among its peers at securing a better future for the citizenry.
” Osun is also endowed with good representatives and legislators that have not only keyed into the education policy of the state, but attach extreme commitment to the promotion of quality, functional and qualitative education.
“So, it is good to see that the state has brought to bear the much required innovation into the education sector through the appointment of Headmasters-General which I want other states to emulate.
“And it is not a gainsay that Osun is running best practice in education sector as the state has so far institutionalized the best in the sector.
“With the good education system in the state coupled with her good orientation, it is certain that the state is running innovative education system as being seen in the promotion of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
“I have seen the tablets of knowledge which the state produced and distributed freely to the pupils of state and to me this is the way to go if we truly want to promote ICT”, Bobboyi stressed.
In his remarks, Governor Aregbesola said his administration was committed to the provision and promotion of quality education as the sector remains the bedrock of development.
