The Osun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has congratulated Muslims statewide for successfully partaking in this year’s Ramadan fasting which is one of the five basic pillars of Islam.
The APC chieftain in a statement issued by his media consultant, Mr Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, earlier today said, it is favour from God if one could willingly subject himself to the rigour of fasting for 30 solid days without hitches.
Famodun who advised the muslims to celebrate the Ramadan which is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar with moderation also enjoined the Muslims to embrace the lessons learnt from the Islamic pillar.
He said it’s only by doing this that they can become veritable agents of change in the society they are finding themselves.
The state APC chairman also reminded the Moslems that some of the purposes of fasting in Islam should be strictly adhered to in order to make the world more comfortable for the people.
He said he was aware that one of the purposes of fasting in Islam is to attain nearness to God so that God will become a reality in our lives.
It is his further submission that attainment of nearness to God would, no doubt, enable one to be both a secular and spiritual law-abiding citizen who is a delight to the government in all ramifications.
He said it was important for the Muslims to always pray for their both political and religious leaders especially at the end of Ramadan in the interest of dispersal of blessings.
The Igbajo-born APC leader said, it’s only when the leaders are in their proper frame of mind, which is attainable through prayers, that the led could prosper.
Famodun urged the Moslems not to relent in their development of strengthening of their powers of self-control so that they could continue to resist wrongful desires and bad habits and ultimately guard against evil things and their agents.
“As you are celebrating this year’s end of Ramadan fasting, do it with moderation and my prayer to you all is that you will celebrate more Ramadans in the land of the living”, the APCstate chairman counselled.
