The State of Osun House of Assembly has this afternoon ordered that the status quo ante remains at Osogbo South LCDA.
This order was given during the house emergency sitting which was convened to mediate in the purported impeachment of Osogbo South LCDA Chairman , Abdulakeem Olaoye. The purported impeachment was put on hold by the State of Osun House of Assembly this afternoon after the aggrieved Paliamentarians refused to honour the invitation of the House of Assembly. Only the purportedly removed Chairman was available at the Assembly’s Complex.
During a press briefing where Honourable representing Boluwaduro/Boripe State Consituency and Deputy Speaker, Hon Femi Popoola spoke on behalf of the House, he stated that the House has no interest in the case but having interest in the process that led to the impeachment which as a law making body they can’t afford to be lawless in their action and so we have insisted that the due process be followed if the Chairman will leave or remain in the Office. Adding that It’s erroneous for anybody to go to town to tarnish the image of this distinct arm of government.
Hon.Popoola however assured the two parties that the House will not be biased or take sides with any individual or group saying that the House is giving the group that purportedly remove the chairman to come and state their case, while the purportedly removed Chairman comes up tp defend himself to give both paties fair hearing.
Hon Femi Popoola however, urge the media to desist from peddling fake news that does not emanate from the House of Assembly and that can further escalate the matter.
…truly in support of good governance.
