History of Progressives e-Group

World as a Global village gave birth to this Progressives minded people who later metamorphosized into the name called “Progressives e-Group. It all started when the young men in the State of Osun noticed that Government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola that came into being in November 2010 came under attacks by the men sponsored by the Osun PDP government. Some of us who were on Media Individually to support this government then used to have online discursions and it was later turned to physical meeting. The First meeting was held on Friday 14th March, 2014 around Capital Hotel Osogbo, State of Osun. The Chief host was Barrister Muftau Adediran Abiodun and in attendance were Comrade Adabanija Qomorudeen Idowu, Comrade Abeegunde Adelowo who came all the way from Mina, Niger State.

Subsequently, the following meeting was held on Sunday 16th March, 2014 after some other Media men were consulted, we were hosted again by Barrister Muftau Adediran Abiodun Kosemoni Building, off Old Road Safety Office, Gbongan Road, Osogbo. At the meeting on that faithful day, other giant Media men joined the Crew, the likes of Abiona Wahab Abiodun from Ikirun, Mujahid Olayemi from Ikire, Abdulateef Tiamiyu Usamt from Ikirun, Wale Alabi from Osogbo and Hon Taoheed Ademola Omo-Omi from Ido Osun. Our Activities have not relied on anybody to survive, we tax ourselves whenever we have activities. This has made the Group to be Unique and Independent amongst its peers. We have used this opportunity to register ourselves into the mind of People. Selfless Service is good, especially when you are dedicated and committed to the course you are serving. These People gave their Opinions and we came up with a Communique been sent to Mr Governor and some days to the Election, 1st of August 2014, we held Feedback Summit again and it was adjudged a Success because most of our recommendation were taken care of by the Government. Then we left for the Election and it was a Success Story. At this 2nd Summit, Hon Bola Ilori who was a serving Special Assistant to Mr Governor on Environment came to attend our Program and he was impressed. He commended us and told us we were doing this to serve ourselves and our Society for this is what we make us to live in a better Society. Our activities yielded the 1st Result as Governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola was re-elected into the Office on Saturday August 9th 2014 and the election was claimed to be free and fair by both Local and International Observers. Between 2014 and now have supported campaign and government of President Muhammadu Buhari. We promote his Policies and his anti-corruption crusade. Shortly, after the Election victory of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Barrister Muftau Adediran was pre-occupied by his ambition to run for House of Assembly, State of Osun, the then step aside and Comrade Wale Alabi was nominated by the members to coordinate the affairs of Progressives e-Group.
